location considerations
- How far do you want to drive for the perfect location? Maybe you can schedule a family session during your vacation in Maine.
- How accessible does the location need to be? If you have little ones then you are likely not going to want to have to walk too far.
- What is most beautiful to you? Ocean, woods, mountains? I personally think you can't go wrong with any of the options below, so maybe try a location you've never tried before!
beaches
When you think Maine, you probably think Ocean, and rightly so. Maine is full of so many beautiful beaches and rocky shores. My favorite beach to photograph families is Reid State Park because of the variety in backgrounds it provides. It has a Long Beach as well as a rocky coastline. Located in Georgetown, this beach is easily accessible and great for kids of all ages!
Fields & Forests
Maine is full of beautiful fields and forests! Download the AllTrails app to find the best options near you. Typically used for finding hikes and walking paths, AllTrails has trail mileage, reviews and even photos! Many easily accessible wooded areas are throughout the state.
Lakes & Ponds
The options are endless! Check out some of the best Maine lakes for swimming to find easily accessible sandy beaches. Make it a day trip and go for a swim after (or during) your photos!
moutains
Ahhh mountains - my personal favorite. I am more than willing to go on a hike with my clients, but I have a little secret for you. There are a number of beautiful mountain backdrops in Maine that don't require a hike. Western Maine is my go-to area for these types of sessions. Again, check out the AllTrails app for ideas or simply message me to schedule your session!
